Soazick Kerneis
Soazick Kerneis is currently Professor of legal history at the University Paris-Nanterre and Director of the Centre d’Histoire et d’Anthropologie du Droit (EA 4417). She has been for two years associate fellow at the Maison Française of Oxford. The topic of her research deals with a better understanding of the European past, thanks to the lessons of legal anthropology. Soazick’s main topic focuses on the process of acculturation in the Late Roman Empire, the legal distortion caused by the contact between Roman law and tribal customs. Due to her double training in law and legal history, she works together with lawyers, historians and anthropologists and promotes an interdisciplinary research on a broad range of issues ranging from legal anthropology to the history of European Law. Her research focuses recently on Judicial Truth and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
